The Shared Writing Campaign/ Sample Writing Papers
If you have thoughts and opinions about the future of the Tennessee Fox Trot Carousel, please take time to send a letter to the people in Nashville who make the decisions regarding this state-owned piece of public art.
The Shared Writing Campaign for schools and other organizations involves three steps:
1. Become informed on the history of the Tennessee Fox Trot Carousel;2. Choose from the two documents below and write a letter - or create your own letter from scratch, illustrate it if you choose, and
3. Mail your letter!
Mail Options:
A. If you are a teacher for Metro Nashville Public Schools you may send your letters at no cost via school mail. Letters will be gathered and taken to the TN State Museum on a regular basis. Please send the letters to:Lockeland Design Center

Sample Writing Papers
Below are the writing papers the students at Lockeland Design Center used, and you are welcome to download them and use them as well. To use these documents, drag them to your desktop and print. Notice that one is created for those who are in favor of bringing back the carousel and the other for those who wish to share other thoughts.
You can see examples of the students' letters under the News/Updates tab on this blog. We also included our local government leaders in the heading, but those names have been removed to make the letters usable for anyone. You are welcome to write in the names of your state senator and state representative: visit www.Capitol.TN.gov/legislators and type in your (or your school's) address to get these names.
